Export: Africa
UK cleaning concentrates and raw materials for Africa.
Hawthorne supplies concentrates, formulation-grade raw materials and packaging to importers, distributors and manufacturers in Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, South Africa and markets across Africa, by sea from the UK.
Freight and duty on water add up.
On long sea routes, freight, duty and inland transport all scale with volume. Concentrate puts the active chemistry on the ship and adds the water at destination.
Five from one
One IBC of concentrate makes five IBCs of finished product at 1:4.
Local manufacturing
Formulation-grade raw materials for manufacturers making cleaning products locally.
Your brand
Own-label concentrates and finished ranges for distributors building their own brand.
One shipment
Concentrates, raw materials, fragrance and packaging consolidated where classification allows.

Conformity checks, before the ship sails.
Several African markets check imports for conformity before they leave the UK. We plan this into the order so the shipment clears on arrival.
- Pre-shipment conformity
- Some countries need a certificate of conformity for each consignment, issued by an appointed inspection company before shipping. Kenya is one example.
- National programmes
- Nigeria runs its own product conformity programme. We confirm the requirements for your country before booking freight.
- Standards and registration
- National standards bodies may ask for registration or test reports. Your importer usually leads this; we supply the documents.
- Dangerous goods
- We confirm the shipping line accepts the product's transport class to your port before we quote.
- Payment
- New accounts are supplied on advance payment or a confirmed letter of credit. Quotes in GBP, USD or EUR.
